Surprise!

Alex Orrego surprise to everyone at the last chess Tournament at TRCS after defeating to all his opponents in four rounds, and get the Monte Joffee Trophy.

Short number of participants this time but very intense games and high technique, gives the tournament a great status.

The School Saint Joan of Arc was present with Hanna May, and PS 222 sends to Yashsvi Sharma and Aylin Noguera in their representation

The event also counts with the presence of 3 past winner of the valuable prize: Alexandra Krutel, Moses Levich and Scott Brevda.

Of those champions, only Moses get the opportunity of stopping the dreams of Alex but after getting a winning position, get trouble finding the right continuation and Alex took advantage of it.

“I was so lucky in that game. Moses played very well and only his last mistake helps me”, the new champion said.

In reality, Alex got also lucky against Julian Goldenberg, winner of the Open section, who played an excellent tournament and cooperate to stop Scott of his ambitions at the third round.

Alexandra Krutel twice winner of the Monte Joffee, and with clear intentions of getting it for third time, was stopped by Moses in the third round.

At the end, Mr. Levich and Mr. Kolman, parents of TRCS students, help at the award ceremony.
